Tail Gas Purification


We provide wet and dry purifiers for purification of soot particles in the tail gas pollutants of diesel genset. Dry purifier has better purification effect. While the wet purifier is less effective, it is capable of smoke extraction and cooling. So it is suitable for occasions with exhaust temperature requirements. The two types of purifiers can also be used together.
Wet purifier is composed of a storage tank, pumps and sprinkler, etc. The tank is separated into two parts by a partition. Black smoke exhausted from the engine enters Zone 1 of storage tank, where the water is driven by the pump to pass through the sprinkler and then mist is formed. Black smoke particles in Zone 1 are melted in the water, and the exhaust gas is cooled by water spray in Zone 2 again after buffering in Zone 1.Finally it is discharged outside the tank.
There are water circulation pipes and sewage pipes installed in the sprinkling tank, so that sewage is discharged and cooling water supplied timely when the system is in operation. Meanwhile, there is floating ball in the supply pipe so that water level in the sprinkling tank won’t be too high. Shut-off valve can also be installed between the exhaust pipe of the engine and the sprinkling tank to prevent water and moisture intrusion into the engine block, which would otherwise cause failure.
The principle of dry purifier is that, the ceramic filter element (particle collector) of black smoke purifier is opened at one end of each channel, while the other end is closed, so the black smoke particles and exhaust gas from the diesel engine are forced to pass through perforated ceramic wall. But the black smoke particles are caught on the channel wall since the particle is larger than the pore. The product is capable of reducing particulate matter (PM) by 90% or more or reaches below level 1 for Ringelmann blackness.
Dry purifier has two models including AHJ and AHJ-C. The difference is that the latter features automatic cleaning regeneration. AHJ-C has the wall-flow carrier coated with catalysts like active rare earth containing precious metals. The main ingredients of catalysts are Pt, Pd, Rh, Al2O3, Ce, La, Zr, Cu and Mn, etc. When the exhaust gas temperature reached 375°C, the black smoke particles caught on the pore walls may be gradually oxidized by combustion due to catalyst, with purification rate of black smoke particles up to about 85% or more. All black smoke particles can be burnt off when the catalyst bed temperature reaches 500°C, which is called catalytic combustion. This is the unique properties of diesel catalyst, so that the catalyst is capable of regeneration from 500°C and the purification rate can reach over 90%.

 Removable, easy cleaning and maintenance
 Configured with manual bypass, normal operation of genset guaranteed under unusual circumstances
When AHJ black smoke purifier is working, in order to extend the filter maintenance cycle, filters are used when the engine temperature is low with much black smoke, and bypasses are opened when the machine temperature rises and black smoke disappears. Since AHJ-C’s filter is capable of regeneration during operation, there is no need to clean up. Simply observe the purifier backpressure gauge data to make sure the purifier is working properly and open the bypass valve if the backpressure is too high.
